Charles R Drew University of Medicine and Science is a four-year institute located in Los Angeles, California. The institute was founded in 1966. The name of the institute is also abbreviated as CDU. It is the only Historically Black Graduate Institution located on the west bank of the Mississippi River. The campus is spread across an area of more than 10 acres.

Charles R Drew University is divided into the following four institutes:

  • College of Science and Health
  • School of Nursing
  • College of Medicine
  • Saturday Science Academy

The university also offers pre-college programs, community programs and pipeline programs. The institute is home to several on-campus organizations like the Office of Medical Student Affairs, Alumni Association and the Office of Student Education Services. The institute offers personal as well as academic counseling services to students. CDU also provides financial assistance to needy and eligible students.
