Overview

Christian Brothers University, also known as CBU, is located in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. It was established on November 19, 1871, by the De La Salle Christian Brothers and was named Christian Brothers College. In June 1990, it gained university status. It is the oldest institution in the City of Memphis that grants collegiate degrees. The oldest building on campus was constructed in 1939. CBU is made up of the following academic units:

CBU has recognized several fraternities and sororities including Kappa Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Sigma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Sigma Gamma Rho, Delta Sigma Pi, Phi Beta Sigma, Gamma Theta Phi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Alpha Xi Delta.
