Overview

Richard J. Daley College is one of seven City Colleges of Chicago. It enrolls more than 4000 students and over 80 full-time faculty. The college was founded as William J. Bogan Junior College in 1960. Earlier, it utilized classrooms in the evenings, provided by the William J. Bogan High School, which were located in the Ashburn neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago. In 1977, after the death of Richard J. Daley, the late mayor, the college was renamed after him. Its present campus was completed in the year 1981.

The student life at Richard J. Daley College is vibrant and active. Students are provided many opportunities for social and recreational development. There are various Student clubs and organizations on campus. The college's Student Government Association sponsors charity drives, guest speakers, movie days, fundraisers, and many other cultural events.
