Overview

Claremont McKenna College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college located in Claremont, California. It was established in 1946 as Claremont Men's College. It was renamed Claremont McKenna College in honor of Donald McKenna, a founding trustee, in 1981. The campus is spread across an area of 50 acres. CMC offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

CMC has an active student life. The campus is home to several student clubs and organizations, such as the Asian Pacific American Mentoring Program, the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company, Claremont Colleges Debate Union and Claremont Colleges Fencing Club.
