Overview
Clayton State University was founded in 1969 as Clayton Junior College. The name was changed to Clayton State College in 1986 and Clayton College and State University in 1996. CSU adopted its present name in 2005. The main campus is spread across an area of more than 160 acres in Morrow, Georgia. In addition, CSU has a satellite campus located in Peachtree City. At present, the university enrolls more than 6,000 students annually and is organized into the following academic divisions:

- School of Nursing
CSU offers a very active Greek life. Some of the fraternities and sororities of the university are Sigma Gamma Rho, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Delta Sigma Theta, Gamma Beta Mu, Zeta Phi Beta, Alpha Phi Alpha, Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Beta Sigma and Psi Chi. In addition, the university also sponsors other student organizations and clubs, such as the History Society, Teacher Education Club, Caribbean Student Association, Clayton State Science Association, American Medical Student Association, and many more.

Room and Board
Clayton State provides on-campus housing for 450 of its 5,188 (full-time) students (as of 2009-2010). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.
Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 20 meals weekly.
Athletics
The school is in the Peach Belt Conference for major sports.
