Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) is a private institute of art and design, and is situated in the University Circle, Cleveland, Ohio. The college was established in 1882 as Western Reserve School of Design for Women. The institute was known by the name Cleveland School of Art from 1891 to 1948. CIA started offering Bachelor of Fine Arts degree to the students in 1947.
The college offers financial aid to its students through grants, loans and work study. The students of CIA can start their major in drawing, ceramics, enameling, interior design and various other courses of art and design.
CIA is home to numerous students clubs and organizations. Some of them include Student Artists Association, Community Service Club, Ski and Snowboarding Club, and Painting Club. Some distinguished students and professors of the college include Ryan Nagode, chief designer, Chrysler; Amy Gardiner, creator of Space Beavers; and Joe Oros, designer of 1965 Ford Mustang.
