Overview

The Cochran School of Nursing, founded in 1894 at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, is the oldest nursing school in Westchester County. This hospital-based nursing school is situated in Yonkers, New York and grants associate’s degree in applied science to students upon graduation. The two-year nursing program prepares students to become Licensed Practical Nurses. The school offers both day and evening classes to facilitate all types of students. Students also have the opportunity to obtain clinical education and training from local hospitals like the Westchester Medical Center.

The Cochran School of Nursing offers a chapter of the National Student Nurses Association. Membership offers various benefits such as scholarships, partnership programs with other professional associations, and nursing journals and book discounts, among others.
