Overview

Colby-Sawyer College, located in New London, New Hampshire, is an independent, liberal arts college. Its campus occupies an area of 190 acres. Colby-Sawyer College was founded in 1837 as a coeducational academy. It went on to become a junior college for women in 1928, and then regained its co-educational status in 1989.

Colby-Sawyer College offers undergraduate degree programs in a wide range of disciplines, including business administration, environmental studies, fine and performing arts, exercise and sport sciences, social sciences and education, humanities, nursing, and natural sciences.

Colby-Sawyer is an NCAA Division III college, and is also a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference, the Commonwealth Coast Conference, the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association, the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association, and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association. In 2007, U.S. News & World Report listed Colby-Sawyer in its "Great Schools, Great Prices" category of top Northern baccalaureate colleges.
