Overview

College of San Mateo, also known as CSM, is a community college in San Mateo, California, United States. It is part of the San Mateo County Community College District. It was founded in 1922. The college enrolls more than 10,000 students each semester. CSM offers over 95 majors, more than 80 A./A.S. degree majors, over 90 certificate programs, and numerous transfer areas.

CSM’s campus is located in the hills of San Mateo, about 30 minutes south of San Francisco. It is spread across an area of more than 150 acres. There are various student clubs and organizations on campus. KCSM’s television and radio stations are licensed to the San Mateo County Community College District. They made their broadcast debuts in 1964.

Many graduates of CSM have become famous. Some of the notable alumni are Jeanne Bates, actress; Dana Carvey actor, comedian; Kurtwood Smith, actor; and Archie Williams, athlete.
