Overview

College of the Canyons is a public, two-year, community college located in Santa Clarita, California, United States. It was officially opened in 1969. The college operates within the Santa Clarita Community College District. The campus spreads across an area of 153 acres. It is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, it consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the United States.

College of the Canyons offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse fields of study including production, biotechnology, child development, dance, and fire control technology. The college is home to a 926-seat performing arts center that was built in partnership with the city of Santa Clarita.

The college competes in the Western State Conference in over 10 sports including football, soccer, volleyball, golf, softball, and baseball. Their sports teams are nicknamed the Cougars.
