Overview

College of the Mainland, also referred to as COM, is located in Texas City, Texas. This college was established in 1966. The plan for the building of the college was made in the early 1960s by the community leaders. The college began its first classes in September 1967. The college boasts of enrolling more than 4,000 credit students and over 10,000 continuing education students every year. COM offers degree and certificate programs in a variety of study areas such as Business, Science, Fire Technology and Health Information Management.

There are many students clubs and organizations available on campus including a Student Government Association, a Biology Club, an Ecology Club, Phi Theta Kappa and an International Student Organization. The college students participate in playing games such as soccer and billiards.
