Overview
Columbia Gorge Community College, located in The Dalles, Oregon, was established in 1977 as Wasco Area Education Service District. After a short time, it was renamed Treaty Oak Education District. It became a community college in 1989, at the same time it was given its present name. Apart from The Dalles Campus, the college also operates a Hood River Indian Creek Campus.
CGCC offers associate degree and certificate programs in areas related to arts, science, business, computer application, criminal justice, health and education. Pre-college and adult continuing education programs are also available. Distance learning is offered through online, videoconferencing, satellite, hybrid, online component, and teleweb classes. Columbia Gorge Community College is home to a number of student organizations, including the ASCGCC Student Council and the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
