Overview

Cornell College is a private liberal arts college located in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Cornell College was originally known as the Iowa Conference Seminary and received its present name in 1857. It was founded in 1853 by Reverend Samuel M. Fellows. The college offers several majors and minors in subjects ranging from economics, business, computer science and chemistry. The college also offers pre-professional programs in several subjects like engineering, nursing and continuing education.

Cornell College has an active campus life. Alpha Chi Epsilon, Alpha Sigma Pi, Beta Omicron, College Republicans and Student Global Aids Campaign are some of the student clubs and organizations sponsored by the school. The Student Government Association organizes several educational and cultural student activities on campus as well.
