Overview

Cuesta College is a public, community college located in San Luis Obispo County, off the Central Coast of California, United States. It was established in 1963. The college offers more than 75 Associate degree programs and over 90 certificate programs. Cuesta is part of the California Community Colleges system. The Cuesta campus is located six miles from the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and six miles from San Luis Obispo (SLO).

A number of Cuesta students transfer to the public California State University and University of California systems. The athletic department of the college fields more than five men's sports and over seven women's sports. The school's athletic mascot is the Cougar.

Many students of Cuesta College have become famous. Some notable alumni are Gabrielle Union, actress; Aaron Levin, an infielder; and Kristof Ongenaet, forward for Syracuse University.
