Cumberland University, also known as CU, is located in Lebanon, Tennessee, United States. It was founded in the year 1842. The university offers major degrees in over thirty fields. The university also has a notable enrollment of international students from various countries around the world.
Cumberland University hosts various student clubs and organizations including the African American Student Association, Student Tennessee Education Association, Student Tennessee Education Association, and Student Tennessee Education Association, among others. The institution also has an active Greek life and is home to various sororities and fraternities such as Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Sigma Tau, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Omega Psi Phi. Nicknamed the Bulldogs, the athletic teams of CU compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. They particpate in sports such as golf, softball, and basketball, among others.

Cumberland AthleticsSchool sports include football (Mid-South Conference), basketball (TranSouth Athletic Conference), baseball (TranSouth Athletic Conference), and track (TranSouth Athletic Conference). Cumberland offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 284 male students received the aid (men were 64% of those receiving aid) and 158 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 36% of students receiving such aid) .
