Overview
The College of Staten Island, or CSI, is a four-year, senior college of The City University of New York. It was founded in 1976 from the merger of Richmond College and Staten Island Community College. It is one of the 11 senior colleges of The City University of New York (CUNY). The college offers associate and bachelor degrees in liberal arts and sciences and professional studies. CSI also offers master degree in more than ten professional and liberal arts and sciences fields of study.
CSI’s campus is spread across an area of more than 200 acres. Nestled in a park-like landscape, the campus is centrally located on Staten Island. The academic buildings of CSI house 300 classrooms, study lounges, laboratories and instructional spaces, department and program offices, and faculty offices.
Some of the notable alumni of CSI are Noam Germain, businessman and strategist; Gene Simmons, lead singer of Kiss; and Justin Brannan, radio announcer.
