Overview

LaGuardia Community College, or LaGuardia, is a City University of New York (CUNY) community college located in Long Island City, Queens, New York, United States. It was established in 1968. It is named in honor of former New York City Mayor, Fiorello La Guardia. The college is referred to as the World's Community College because it has a diverse international student body, representing more than 150 countries.

LaGuardia offers various programs leading to three degrees - associate in arts (AA), associate in science (AS), and associate in applied science (AAS). Many students transfer to four-year institutions to attain bachelor degrees upon completing their studies at LaGuardia. The college also offers continuing education programs.
