CUNY Medgar Evers College

Medgar Evers College is a public, co-educational college established on January 27, 1969. It is a part of the City University of New York system. The College is named after black civil rights activist, Medgar Wiley Evers. The college now grants admission to more than 5,500 students every year, on average.

The schools under MEC are:

The official mascot of MEC is the Cougar. Its sports teams participate in intercollegiate basketball, volleyball and soccer, among other sports.
