Overview

Dalton State College, also known as Dalton State or DSC, was established in 1963, and is situated in Dalton, Georgia. It was set up as Dalton Junior College, and opened its doors in September 1967. The school was given its present name in 1998.

DSC’s campus sits on more than 130 acres of land. Over 4,500 commuter students at DSC come from a twelve-county service area and nearly thirty-eight foreign countries. The school confers baccalaureate degrees in several areas of study. DSC is made up of the following academic units:

  • School of Liberal Arts
  • School of Sciences and Mathematics
  • School of Nursing
  • School of Social Work
  • School of Technology

Dalton State College hosts several clubs and organizations for extracurricular student development. Some of them are the Accounting Club, Phi Theta Kappa, the Business Networking Club, and the Environmental Club.
