Dana College

Dana College is a private baccalaureate college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. The college was established by Danish pioneers in 1884 and originally started as a preparatory school. It has a 150-acre campus in Blair, Nebraska. The college has its traditional liberal arts reading program, which has been a tradition at the college for over 50 years. Dana College offers the students with associate’s and bachelor’s degrees for the students in both science and arts. Degree programs in music, musical theater, Spanish, sports management and religion are also offered.

The Dana College has an active student government association and there are a host of activities such as the peace fest and Great Plains conference that have active participation of students. The college has a well awarded athletics department which has nationally ranked teams in almost all sports.

Housing and Meals

Dana provides on-campus housing for 544 of its 616 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.

Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.

Dana Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. Dana is in the Great Plains Athletic Conference for major sports.
