Davis and Elkins College was established in 1904 by Henry Gassaway Davis and Stephen Benton Elkins, after whom the college is named. The campus of the college is located in Elkins, West Virginia, on the Hallienhurst farm. Commonly abbreviated as D&E College, it has a campus area of 170 acres consisting of over 20 buildings. D&E College is a liberal arts college which offers the students with baccalaureate’s, associate’s and pre professional programs. The college has a number of departments including biology and environmental science, chemistry, fine and performing arts, mathematics, computer science and physics.
D&E College has an active Greek life made up of fraternities, sororities, and honor societies such as Chi Beta Phi, Phi Beta Lambda, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Alpha Phi Omega. The college also has various other clubs such as Biology Club, Spanish Club, Accounting Club, and Music Society.
