Overview
Davis & Elkins College, D&E, was founded by the United States Senators, Henry Gassaway Davis and Stephen Benton Elkins, in September, 1904. The campus is spread across 170 acres in Elkins, West Virginia. This liberal arts college is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.
Davis & Elkins College offers more than 30 programs leading to associate's, and bachelor's degrees. Courses are available in the fields of arts, sciences, pre-professional, and professional studies. D&E also offers workshops in dance, music, folklore, and craft through the Augusta Heritage Center.
Davis & Elkins College is home to Greek societies like Alpha Psi Omega, Beta Alpha Beta, Phi Alpha Theta, Sigma Tau Delta, and Alpha Chi. Students also participate in other on-campus clubs and organizations like the Student Assembly, Music Society, Spanish Club, Student Nurses' Association, Common Ground, Wilderness Adventure Club, and International Student Organization. In addition, they publish a literary magazine called the "Aurora", and a newspaper known as the "Senator".
