Overview

Delgado Community College operates a campus in New Orleans, Louisiana. This public community college is one of the 9 colleges which operates under the guidance of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. DCC originally opened as Delgado Trades School in 1921. It was renamed Delgado Community College by the Louisiana State Legislature in 1980. DCC is named in honor of its founder, Isaac Delgado. DCC offers academic programs in science and mathematics, communication, business and technology, arts and humanities, and allied health.

The Charity Association of Student Nurses, the Culinary Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Delta Epsilon Chi, and the Delgado Theater Club are some of the clubs and organizations available to students at the college. Its sports teams are nicknamed the Dolphins.
