Overview

Denison University is situated in Granville, Ohio, United States. It was established in 1831 by the Ohio Baptist Education Society and was originally named Granville Literary and Theological Institution.

The university's enrollment is approximately 2,000 students, and its campus is roughly 1,200 acres. It offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

Denison University hosts several student organizations. Some of them are the Denison Campus Governance Association, Burpee's Seedy Theatrical Company, and Black Student Union. The university has a diverse student body. As of 2008, it enrolled 66 percent out-of-state students.

Denison has six fraternities and six sororities including Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Kappa Alpha Theta.
