Overview

DePauw University is located in Greencastle, Indiana, United States. It was founded in 1837 by the Methodist Church. It was formerly known as the Indiana Asbury University in honor of Francis Asbury, the first American Bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The university offers several academic programs in the fields of political science, physics and astronomy, film studies, computer science, and international relations, among others.

DePauw University supports a large number of Greek societies such as Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Delta Tau Delta, Phi Delta Theta, Psi Lambda Xi, Alpha Phi Alpha, and Delta Sigma Theta. Students are also involved in other clubs and organizations including the College Democrats, Catholic Students’ Association, Habitat for Humanity, and DePauw Christian Fellowship. The sports teams participate in basketball, badminton, bowling, golf, racquetball, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, touch football, table tennis, and ultimate frisbee.
