Diablo Valley College

Diablo Valley College, or DVC, was established in 1949 as East Contra Costa Junior College. The college adopted its present name in 1958. DVC is part of the Contra Costa Community College District and has satellite centers in Walnut Creek and San Ramon. The college includes several academic departments headed by deans. Some of the departments of DVC are administration of justice, biology, computer information systems, and hotel and restaurant management.

The athlete teams of DVC are known as the Vikings. The men’s teams include baseball, cross-country, swimming, basketball, football, water polo and tennis. The women’s teams include basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, cross-country, tennis, swimming, and water polo.

DVC has a number of student organizations including the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering Club, Black Student Union, Dramatic Society, English Football/Soccer Club, International Full Gospel Club, Phi Beta Lambda, International Students Club, and Logical Thinking Club.
