Overview

Dixie State College of Utah, also known as DSC, is a college located in St. George, Utah, United States. The institution was founded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on September 19, 1911, as St. George Stake Academy. After a few name changes, it was finally renamed Dixie State College of Utah in 2000. The college enrolls more than 7,000 students.

DSC offers bachelor degrees in diverse areas of study. It also offers associate degrees in several fields of study. Certifications are also available in medical radiography, nursing, automotive mechanics, and dental hygiene.

The College is a member of the NJCAA. The athletic department fields a variety of sports for both men and women. Some notable alumni of the college are Jeffery R. Holland, apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; Rick Baird, member of the U.S. Bobsled team; and Scott Young, NFL OL Philadelphia Eagles.
