Overview

Draughons Junior College is a career-focused college operated by the Daymar Colleges Group based in Owensboro, Kentucky. It was founded by John F. Draughon in 1879 and was originally named Draughons Practical Business College. Early classes were provided by Mr. Draughon on wheels. A permanent location for the school was first established in the early 1900s in Nashville, Tennessee. The school received accreditation as a junior college in 1978.

The school has expanded into a chain of business colleges and now has campuses in Tennessee - Nashville, Clarksville, and Murfreesboro; Kentucky –Clinton, Albany, Bowling Green, Paducah, Russellville, and Scottsville; and Indiana – Rockport. The Murfreesboro campus began in 2003. Courses available at the Murfreesboro campus include accounting technology, business administration technology, internet website design, paralegal studies and medical assisting.
