East Central University

East Central University, also nicknamed as ECU, was established in 1909. It was originally named East Central State Normal School. This four-year public university is located in Ada, Oklahoma and university enrolls more than 4,000 students annually. ECU offers a range of degree programs, academic majors and minors to its students in subjects which include Business Administration, Accounting, English, and Communication Studies. The university has 5 colleges under it which are:

East Central University has an active Greek life; there are various fraternities and sororities on campus. Both male and female students take active part in sports, like basketball.

Housing and Meals

East Central University provides on-campus housing for 1,086 of its 3,841 (full-time) students (as of 2008-2009). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.

Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 20 meals weekly.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Lone Star Conference for major sports.

The school offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 24 male students received the aid (men were 55% of those receiving aid) and 20 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 45% of students receiving such aid) .
