East Central University, also nicknamed as ECU, was established in 1909. It was originally named East Central State Normal School. This four-year public university is located in Ada, Oklahoma and university enrolls more than 4,000 students annually. ECU offers a range of degree programs, academic majors and minors to its students in subjects which include Business Administration, Accounting, English, and Communication Studies. Housing and MealsEast Central University provides on-campus housing for 1,086 of its 3,676 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus. Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 20 meals weekly.
