Overview
East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania was established in 1893 as the East Stroudsburg Normal School. It was later renamed East Stroudsburg State Teachers College and became East Stroudsburg State College in 1960. It gained university status in 1983 and settled on its present name at that time. The university is also known as ESU. The main campus covers more than 210 acres in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and includes around 62 buildings. ESU is organized into various colleges:

- College of Business and Management
- College of Education
- College of Health Sciences
- Graduate College
The university has officially recognized several Greek organizations, which are governed by the Inter Fraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council. In addition, there are several other student clubs and organizations. The American Institute of Biological Sciences, the European Studies Club, the Art Association, the Council for Exceptional Children and the Contemporary Dancers club are some of the student clubs at ESU.
ESU competes in the NCAA Division II. However, its wrestling and volleyball teams compete in the NCAA Division I. Its sports teams are known as the Warriors. The athletics department sponsors 10 men's and women's sports teams.
