East-West University was established in 1980. It is a private institution situated in Chicago, Illinois. The university’s campus consists of two buildings, which are called the East and West Buildings. A number of degrees are offered in diverse areas of study, including English and communication, behavioral and social sciences and mathematics, among others. EWU offers special programs like Islamic Studies and ESL.

EWU offers an active student life and the campus is home to several clubs and organizations, including the Muslim Students' Association, the Latino Student Association, the Black Student Association and the Performing Arts Group. Their official mascot is the Phantom.
