Overview
Eastern Kentucky University, or EKU, is an undergraduate and graduate teaching and research institution located in Richmond, Kentucky, United States. It was founded in 1906 as Eastern Kentucky State Normal School. The school was officially renamed Eastern Kentucky University in 1966. EKU offers more than 165 degree programs at the associate, bachelor, and master degree level. It is organized into the following academic divisions:

- College of Justice and Safety
EKU has an active student life. It is home to more than 150 registered student organizations including the EKU BassMasters and the EKU Anime Club. There are several fraternities and sororities on campus governed by the National Panhellenic Conference, North-American Interfraternity Conference, and National Pan-Hellenic Council.
