Overview
Eastern Virginia Medical School, EVMS, is a medical school in Norfolk, Virginia that matriculated its first class in 1973. Situated on 500 acres, EVMS offers a variety of medical programs including surgical assistant (graduate certificate and certificate), clinical embryology and andrology (M.S.), master of public health (MPH), and Virginia consortium program in clinical psychology (Psy.D.).
The students of Eastern Virginia Medical School participate in various clubs and professional organizations including the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistant (SAAAPA), the Christian Medical Association, the Dermatology Club (Derm Club), the Emergency Medicine Club (EMIG), and the Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG).
EVMS offers EVMS-Administered Scholarships and L.D. Britt, M.D., Endowed Scholarship to those who are eligible. The campus has the Edward E. Brickell Medical Sciences Library - The Brickell Medical Sciences Library which opened in March 2000.
