Eden Theological Seminary

The Eden Theological Seminary is a private institution located in Webster Grove, Missouri. German pastors founded the seminary in 1850. It was originally located in Marthasville, Missouri, but was shifted to Wellston, Missouri in 1883. In 1924, the seminary moved to its current location in Webster Grove. ETS grants master’s and doctoral degrees in areas such as theological studies, divinity and pastoral studies, among others.

The Eden Theological Seminary publishes an online newsletter, known as Eden Now. The school also offers scholarships to its eligible students. Some notable alumni of the institute are Karl Paul Reinhold Niebuhr, an American theologian; Helmut Richard Niebuhr, a Christian theological-ethicists; and Walter Brueggemann, an American Old Testament scholar.
