El Camino Community College District

El Camino College, also referred to as "El Co" or "ECC", is a public, coeducational, community college located in the city of Torrance in Los Angeles, California, United States. The El Camino Community College District, along with the College, was officially established on July 1, 1947.

ECC offers more than 70 career programs in the fields of fashion, journalism, cosmetology, and computer information systems. In addition to regular courses, ECC also offers a host of faculty organized and campus co-operation study abroad programs. In recent years, students enrolling under these programs have traveled to many countries including Austria, England, France, Australia, and China. The students attending these programs receive full credit, as arranged with college administrators.

The College boasts of some distinguished alumni including Douglas Trumbull, Filmmaker and special effects expert for 2001: A Space Odyssey, Bladerunner, and other films as well as recipient of a life-time achievement Oscar. The members of the hit American rock band "The Beach Boys" also graduated from ECC.
