Overview

El Centro College was founded in 1966 as the first college in the Dallas County Community College District. The college is located in downtown Dallas, Texas. The college offers a number of degrees and certificate programs along with several specializing in the technological and medical fields. Some of the academic departments of the college are the departments of arts and science, information technology and systems support, and business and public service.

El Centro College is home to many student organizations, including the Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs, El Centro College Lamba Club, Chess Club, Information Technology Society, Student Nursing Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Writing Club, Rising Star Club, Fellowship of All Christians, El Centro Performing Arts Club and the Latino Organization of Mentors and Scholars.

El Centro College offers scholarship programs like the Erin Tierney Kramp Encouragement Award, the Rising Star Program, R. Jan LeCroy Scholars Program and many more.
