Overview

Elgin Community College, also known as ECC, is a U.S. post-secondary educational institution which awards associate of arts degrees. It was established in 1949 as part of Elgin Area School District U46. ECC offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

ECC is home to various student clubs and organizations for the overall development of students. Some of the important clubs are Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honor Society, Anime Club, Chinese Club of ECC, ECC Surgical Technology Organization (ESTO), and Future Teachers Club.

ECC’s athletic department fields various sports teams. The student athletes compete in regional and national tournaments in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference. They participate in various sports including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis. The sports teams are nicknamed the Spartans.
