Elmira College, also known as EC, is located in Elmira, New York, United States. It was established in 1855. EC received its Phi Beta Kappa charter in 1940 and became a coeducational school in 1969. The college campus spreads over an area of more than 50 acres. EC offers over 35 major programs of study. The college has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students who represent 35 states in the U.s. and 31 foreign countries.
Elmira College has more than 80 clubs and organizations. Some of the college's departmental-academic organizations are the Political Science Club, French Club, and Spanish Club. EC's National Honor Societies include ECPsi Chi, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, and Kappa Delta Pi. The college's sports teams are nicknamed the Soaring Eagles.
