Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, or ERAU, was founded in 1926 as the Embry-Riddle Flying School. It was part of the Embry-Riddle Company, founded in 1925 by Talton Higbee Embry and John Paul Riddle. The Embry-Riddle Flying School was later renamed Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute. In 1970, ERAU adopted its present name. The campus encompasses more than 180 acres in Daytona Beach, Florida. In addition, it has another campus in Prescott, Arizona. ERAU offers several bachelor degrees and master degrees and is organized into the following academic units:

- College of Aviation
- College of Business
- College of Engineering
Notable alumni of ERAU are Gregory A. Biscone, Brigadier General of the United States Air Force; Barry R. Cox, Flight Chief of US Air Force Avionics; Cho Yang-Ho, Chairman and CEO of Korean Air.
