Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott is in Prescott, Arizona, which is about 100 miles north of Phoenix. Embry-Riddle began as the Embry-Riddle Company in 1925 and was renamed Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1970. It also has campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida and worldwide education centers. Buildings on campus that are new since 2008 include the Hazy Library and Learning Center, a Visitor’s Center, a chapel, a dining hall, renovated student union, and renovated residence halls.
Prescott’s students have the benefit of a climate that offers year-round flying conditions and an outdoors lifestyle. The Prescott campus is home to the Golden Eagles Flight Team, which competes in National Intercollegiate Flying Association. The flight team has won 22 consecutive regional championships and seven national championships.
Total student enrollment at the Prescott as of 2008 was over 1700 students, including approximately 30 graduate students. There are more than 75 student organizations on the campus.
