Overview

Emmanuel College, which was established in 1919, was originally known as the Franklin Springs Institute. Due to the Great Depression of the early 1900s, the school closed in 1931, but it reopened in 1933, and in 1939 was renamed Emmanuel College. The college presently occupies a 150-acre campus in Franklin Springs, Georgia.

Emmanuel College awards degrees in business administration, Christian ministries, education, English, history, psychology, sports management, communication studies, and worship and music ministry. It is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • School of Arts and Sciences
  • School of Business
  • School of Christian Ministries
  • School of Education

The student body of Emmanuel College has representatives from over 25 states and 5 foreign countries. The college hosts the Student Government Association, as well as several honor societies, common interest organizations, and academic organizations. In addition, students of Emmanuel College participate in sports like baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, and tennis. The men's teams are known as the Lions, while the women's teams are nicknamed the Lady Lions.

Athletics

The school is in the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference for major sports.
