Overview

Essex County College, also known as ECC, is an accredited, coeducational, two-year, public, community college located in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. Its main campus is located in Newark. ECC’s other facilities include the West Essex Campus, in West Caldwell, and other satellite centers around Essex County.

The college was established in 1966 as the public, two-year, open access Community College of Essex County. The college offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree programs and certificate programs. It enrolls more than 20,000 students each year.

The sports teams of ECC are nicknamed the Wolverines. They are members of the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and region 19 of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The sports teams participate in various sports including basketball, soccer, and indoor and outdoor track.
