Overview
Florida Atlantic University was established on September 14, 1964. The university is spread over 800 acres in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to its main campus, FAU has six satellite campuses in Florida. The academic unit of FAU is divided into the following schools and colleges:

Room and Board
Florida Atlantic provides on-campus housing for 2,800 of its 20,735 (full-time) students (as of 2009-2010). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.
Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.
Athletics
School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Sun Belt Conference for major sports.
