Florida International University

Florida International University is a public research university located in Miami, Florida, founded in 1965. FIU is the youngest university to be awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter by the Phi Beta Kappa Society. The main campus covers an area of 344 acres and offers various degrees and programs through the following academic divisions:

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Sun Belt Conference for major sports.

The school offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 159 male students received the aid (men were 64% of those receiving aid) and 88 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 36% of students receiving such aid) .
