Overview
Florida Memorial University, is a private, coeducational university located in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. It was established in 1879 as Florida Baptist Institute. It merged with the Florida Normal and Industrial Institute in 1941 and became a four-year, liberal arts institution. It went through a number of name and status changes and finally was called Florida Memorial University in December 2004.
Florida Memorial University offers a number of graduate and honors programs, as well as study-abroad programs. The academic divisions of the university are:

Florida Memorial University hosts a large variety of cultural and recreational activities.
