Overview
Garrett College was established in 1971, overlooking the Deep Creek Lake and situated in the Wisp ski area of Alleghany Mountains. It has a campus area of over 60 acres. The college aims at providing students with affordable higher education and instilling in them high ethical standards. Garrett College offers the students with associate's degrees and certificate programs in areas such as liberal arts, mathematics, fine and performing arts, juvenile justice and adventure sports. The college also offers distant learning programs for the students.
Garrett College has an active student government association as well as numerous clubs. The college offers student activity clubs such as art club, adventure sports club, math club, wildlife club and women’s athletic club. The college has vibrant athletic teams which take part in number of sports as basketball, baseball and volleyball. The college athletes are nicknamed as Lakers and Lady Lakers.
