Wallace State Community College is a community college situated in Hanceville, Alabama. The college has been in operation since 1966. WSCC was named after Alabama governor George C. Wallace, who helped to significantly expand the Alabama community college system. Wallace State Community College grants a number of associates degrees in varied areas of study.
WSCC enrolls more than 5,000 students every semester and offers over 50 programs of study, along with various transfer options. Wallace State Community College's campus comprises more than 40 buildings and is spread over an area of 250 acres. WSCC’s athletic teams take part in various sports like baseball, basketball, cheerleading, golf, soccer, softball and volleyball, which take part in the National Junior College Athletic Association and Division I of the Alabama Community College Conference.
