Georgia Perimeter Colleg, or GPC, was established in 1958 as DeKalb College by the DeKalb County Board of Education. The first class was held in 1964 in Clarkston, Georgia. The college was named Georgia Perimeter College in 1997. It is part of the University of Georgia system. There are several campuses of GPC including Clarkston Campus, Dunwoody Campus, and Newton Campus.
GPC offers a number of academic degrees. Some of the academic departments are business enterprise, computer science, library and information science technology, and political science. The scholarships offered by GPC include Alumni Association Scholarship, Alfred M. Byrd Business Administration Scholarship, Beverly Benson Scholarship, Dr. Judy C. Johnston Scholarship, Junius and Sarah Garrison Scholarship, and many more.
Georgia Perimeter College has several student organizations including the African American Club/Student Association, Hispanic Connection/Spanish Club, Math Club, SGA (Student Government Association), Student Judiciary, and Phi Theta Kappa.
