Overview

Glendale Community College, or GCC, was established in 1965 as part of the Maricopa County Community College District. The college started with approximately 2,000 students at two temporary locations. The main campus is spread over 140 acres in Glendale, Arizona. The college offers a number of degree and certificate programs. Some of the academic departments of GCC are administration of justice studies, emergency medical technology, computer graphic design, and multimedia and video production technology.

The athletic teams of GCC are known as the Glendale Gauchos. The college has won seven National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championships. The men’s sports include baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, golf, and cross-country. The women’s sports include soccer, softball, cross country, tennis, basketball, and volleyball.

GCC has several student clubs and organizations. Some of these are the Anthropology Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Native American Student Association, Student Support Services Club, Biotechnology Club, and German Club.
