Grambling State University, also known as GSU, is a historically black four-year coeducational institution, situated in Grambling, Louisiana. It was established in 1901 and received accreditation in 1949. It was named after a sawmill owner, Judson H. Grambling. The university offers a number of programs and degrees in various areas of study.

Housing and MealsGrambling State provides on-campus housing for 2,265 of its 4,817 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus. Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.
