Overview

Grambling State University, also known as GSU, is a historically black four-year coeducational institution, situated in Grambling, Louisiana. It was established in 1901 and received accreditation in 1949. It was named after a sawmill owner, Judson H. Grambling. The university offers a number of programs and degrees in various areas of study.

Notable alumni of Grambling State University include Willis Reed, retired American basketball player; Doug Williams, former NFL quarterback; and Ronnie Coleman, professional American bodybuilder.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Southwestern Athletic Conference for major sports.
