Great Basin College

Great Basin College, also referred to as GBC, is located in Elko, Nevada, United States. It was opened in 1967 as Elko Community College. GBC is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education. The college enrolls more than 4,000 students on an annual basis. In addition to its main campus in Elko, GBC has branches in Battle Mountain, Pahrump, Ely, and Winnemucca, as well as satellite centers throughout Nevada. GBC offers degrees and certificate programs in subjects such as computer office technology, business, and nursing. It also offers several distance education courses.

Great Basin College sponsors a large number of student clubs and organizations. Among them are the Native American Club, Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Agricultural Student Organization, and GBC Democrats.
